Tom Misch @ O2 Academy Brixton (15/11/2018)

If only I could be at two places at once. That’s why getting help from your friendly neighbourhood Ida is such a relief for me. This gig and an exciting retro-gaming event at House of Vans was going on at the same time.

This is basically the fifth-ish time seeing him this year… just remembered I didn’t post aboout his album launch at New Slang in Hippodrome, Kingston. My lovely Carmody was the opening act plus I had a hug and chat with her before the show. I did mention fourthish time I saw him at Ghost Notes.

Wouldn’t you have grown tired of him now?” You may ask. No. I have certainly not.

I’ve gushed about him plenty of times. But the main hero of today’s story is the amazing opening act Barney Artist.

Basically, I was in a blooming relationship until it was abruptly ended just days before this show. After asking multiple people to cuddle with during the more romantic songs *cough cough* Movie. The clock was ticking and I have not yet found a concert companion.

I was on the verge of making a tinder profile just to find one until I had the bright idea of sending Barney a message the night before.

His response not only lifted my spirits up but got me cracking up with a massive grin plastered on my face on the way to university and the while day until the time of the gig.

I came to meet a girl and just vibed on a platonic level who was pretty damn close to being my perfect musical soulmate.

After a showcase of stunning lights and outstanding talent from the Misch siblings (Laura and Polly), Barney, Rob Araujo, Poppy Ajudha and Zak Abel.

We met with Barney afterwards to get our signed posters and hugs while complimenting Zak and Poppy as they were running home.

It was a great night. I’m glad I was dumped.

Thank you, Barns!

Until Next Time,
Salve Salvaña

It was amicable breakup over the phone.
It didn’t stop me crying in a museum…
